Timor-Leste is a new country which well-known for its complex geological diversity. This is one of the reasons to support geotourism activities in Timor-Leste. Geotourism is one of the special interest tourism that need to be developed as a country’s asset. Through support with government proposals that propose for tourism development until 2030.
In this case, there is no new geodiversity destination as a destination for geotourism by the UNESCO Educational, Scientific and Cultural Agency. In Timor-Leste, many areas lack of exposuring to domestic and foreign tourists, so further studies are needed to maximize the selling value of tourism objects. Hence, Study of Tolemau River as a new Geotourism Destination in the villages of Nunu Moge and Mulo.
Methodology which used are the Field infestigation and remote sensing methods. Based on regional geology by Audley-Charles (1968), this area includes a structural zone, seen from the shape of folds rocks that dominate the geotourism object. This lithology has a unique shape and a beautiful structural landscape. Geomorphological landform on Tolemau River is suitable for rock climbing sports. Dokomalli Waterfall with a height of 1,152 masll on very steep cliffs from riverside can be used as a climbing place even though it does not have climbing facilities made by local residents and nature lovers, nevertheless this object can also be used as a photoshot place and cannot be used as a tourist bathing place.
The second geotourist attraction is Asuma Waterfall, where it has amazing natural beauty. This waterfall is only used by local residents as a bathing place for tourists. The lack of facilities which supports that area is our reason to do study in the Tolemau River. In fact, both places have potential as geotourism, especially river tourism With the realization of the necessary revamping, it will simplify the tourists to enjoy the beauty of nature and learn geological science safely and comfortably, so the revamping which made can also increase the number of tourists. Increasing number of tourists can have implications for the local economy and become a new icon in Hato Builico Administrative Post, especially the villages of Nunu Moge Mulo.
